The EESA (European Energy Saving Awards) is a key element of the IUSES Project. The EESA in Ireland (sponsored by Bord Gáis) was launched on 7th September 2009 by the Minister for Education & Science, at the Bord Gáis Offices in Cork. The EESA aims to reward Irish schools and individual students who improve their energy-related performance in the current school year through energy efficiency and energy conservation measures.
There are three categories of prizes: schools; individual students and for videos/media.
Participation is open to all secondary schools and students in Ireland, both as individuals and groups. So if you are planning or implementing measures and activities focusing on energy efficiency and conservation, to support changes in energy-related behaviour, to enhance the use of renewable energies or to avoid transport-related congestion and pollution...

The EESA consists of two stages:
1st stage: Irish National competition
For each of the categories, three prizes are awarded.
2nd stage: European competition
The winners of the first prizes in Ireland for each category are entered in the European competition
Award Ceremony
The winners of the European competition for each category will be awarded their prizes during the final IUSES Conference held in Trieste (Italy) in Autumn 2010.
